Cleaning & Care for Natural Stone
To get the longest life and preserve the beauty of your natural stone, follow these simple tips:
-
Use coasters under all glasses, most importantly under those containing alcohol or citrus juices.
-
Use trivets while cooking. Although natural stones may withstand heat it is recommended to help protect its longevity.
-
Clean stone surfaces with a neutral cleaner, stone soap, or mild liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water.
-
Cleaning products containing lemon, vinegar, or other acids may dull or etch stones.
-
Sealing is a common process to help natural stone tops become stain resistant. It is recommended to seal natural stone tops once a year.
-
For oil-based stains, clean gently with a soft, liquid cleanser such as a household detergent, mineral spirits, or acetone.
