ABOUT US

Terra Stoneworks is a small artisan studio and family business. We create custom, artistic and functional concrete surfaces and elements. Concrete is an alternative surfacing material full of simple and sophisticated beauty. Owner and founder, Michael Sparacio, is a graduate of Pratt Institute's School of Architecture and was seduced by concrete when looking for a unique material for his own home in 2002. The business "formed" in 2006.

Our concrete is cast. It is made with local materials on Long Island. In fact, our raw materials come from within 10 miles of our studio in Farmingdale, NY. Because of this, our product is a greener option for those concerned about the environment. We have partnered with a few local bars to obtain glass aggregates for our terrazzo work, and all of our pieces are fully recyclable after their service life has ended. We are responsible with the waste we produce in the casting process as well. Leftover concrete becomes a new sample, and our waste water is captured in sediment containers.

We feel that concrete is unique. It surprises. Its beauty can be full of imperfections and, as such, it may not be a suitable choice for everyone or every application. But we embrace concrete's imperfections, whether they include slight surface mottling or tonal variations. To us, concrete is handmade and warm. And it's this crafted and special nature of the material that repeatedly inspires us and our clients.
